Fox Corporation (FOX) (FOXA) has officially designated Amazon Web Services as its primary artificial intelligence cloud partner, strengthening a collaboration that began in 2022. Thursday’s announcement marks a significant expansion of the existing infrastructure alliance between these industry leaders.
This strategic decision embeds AWS more deeply into Fox’s media infrastructure, spanning live broadcast streaming to content discovery systems. Following the announcement, shares of Amazon (AMZN) and Fox remained relatively stable in premarket activity.
The expanded partnership focuses on supporting FOX One, the broadcaster’s consumer-facing streaming service. AWS will deploy its Elemental MediaLive, MediaPackage, and MediaTailor platforms, complemented by artificial intelligence and machine learning capabilities including AWS Elemental Inference.
This technology stack aims to deliver scalable streaming solutions for both live and on-demand content. Additional capabilities include automated content highlight generation, customized user recommendations, and instant reformatting of broadcasts optimized for social media distribution.
According to Jeff Dow, Executive Vice President of Platform and Media Technology at Fox, the expanded partnership enables the company to “accelerate innovation across every part of our business.” He highlighted enhancements to content delivery through FOX One and optimization of the media supply chain.
Samira Panah Bakhtiar, General Manager of Media & Entertainment at AWS, noted that integrating Fox’s extensive content portfolio with AWS’s generative AI capabilities creates “new ways to create, deliver and monetize content at scale.”
Building on Years of Collaboration
The initial partnership formed in 2022, with continuous expansion in subsequent years. Fox utilized Amazon Media Replay Engine during the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, automatically generating 731 recap videos covering all 61 matches — a capability that has since been applied to additional live sporting events.
By 2023, Fox had modernized its streaming infrastructure through AWS, achieving 4K resolution with HDR color grading and sub-second latency performance. That year, Fox presented its AI and data platform capabilities at AWS Summit NY, incorporating technologies such as Amazon SageMaker, Amazon Personalize, Amazon Bedrock, and Amazon Titan.
Fox’s digital properties currently engage more than 300 million monthly active users globally.
AWS Maintains Cloud Market Leadership
Amazon Web Services commands approximately 30% of the cloud computing market as of late 2025, based on data from Synergy Research Group. This market position places AWS ahead of competitors Microsoft (MSFT) and Alphabet’s Google (GOOG).
Securing Fox as a client strengthens AWS’s media and entertainment portfolio during a period of intense competition among cloud providers for AI-driven workload opportunities across multiple sectors.
In recent implementations, Fox has utilized AWS Elemental Inference to automatically convert 16:9 live sports broadcasts into vertical formats suitable for social media platforms — executing these transformations in near real-time.
