Comcast’s Universal Pictures released the animated feature across over 4,000 cinema locations throughout the United States and Canada. The per-screen average reached $30,795 — an impressive figure considering the prevalence of discounted children’s admission prices.
Domestic receipts for the Easter three-day period totaled $130.9 million. Industry tracker Comscore projects the film will accumulate $190.1 million domestically across its first five days of release.
Overseas territories contributed an additional $182.4 million. This combined performance substantially surpasses other 2026 theatrical releases.
Roth analyst Eric Handler projected first-week earnings between $160 million and $200 million for the Wednesday-to-Sunday window, noting Mario’s position as a premier gaming franchise with more than 430 million units sold globally.
